Researcher Taxonomy Guidance

This document defines the flexible archiving strategy for external researchers, academics, and commentators who study or interact with the Scole Experiment data but were not original session participants. It outlines the hybrid taxonomy used to categorise their contributions—whether through the Literature Series, the Narratives Series, or external web routing—ensuring consistent indexing without unnecessarily expanding the core archival structure.

OVERVIEW:

This document defines the flexible archiving strategy for researchers, academics, and commentators who study or interact with the Scole Experiment data but were not original session participants. Because researchers contribute to the archive in diverse ways, their presence is managed through a hybrid taxonomy utilising the Literature Series, the Narratives Series, and external web routing.

1. THE LITERATURE ROUTE (12-LIT)

Researchers who author specific books, academic papers, or media related to the archive are catalogued within the 12-LIT-Literature series. Their profiles and works are stored within the LIT-1001 to LIT-1999 Specific Authors reserved block.

2. THE NARRATIVE ROUTE (15-NAR)

Researchers who are actively involved in the curator's ongoing technical research, cross-disciplinary analysis, or presentation development are catalogued within the 15-NAR-Narratives series. These files are housed in the NAR-02-Technical-Research subfolder and must utilise the 'RES' (Researcher) identifier prefix in their filename (e.g., Scole-15-NAR-02-RES-Lastname-Firstname.txt).

3. THE WEBSITE-ONLY ROUTE

Researchers who require listing for contextual or historical reference but currently lack formal SANS Plaintext documentation are managed exclusively on the Archive's web front-end. No internal SANS folders are created for these individuals until archival data is generated.

BRACKETED LINKING STANDARD:

The front-end Researchers index page will utilise a standardised bracketed tagging system to direct users to the appropriate asset format. The approved tags are:

- [Drive]: Direct link to raw SANS Plaintext files.

- [Post]: Direct link to curated Archive Blogger articles.

- [Media]: Direct link to hosted multimedia assets (video, audio, social media).

- [Web]: Direct external routing to third-party internet sources.
