DIARY TEXT:

Session 456.

Monday 5 October 1998.

During our session on Monday 5 October we started with Manu’s new format for the "Alice" video experiment. Nobody sat in front of the mirror and there were now no candles behind the curtain. The video camera had been moved forward, and was pointing directly into the mirror. The fifteen minutes initial meditation round the central table, which had just one large candle burning on it, was followed immediately afterwards by total darkness.

Manu explained that the TDC communicator at the previous sitting had been one of our "stellar friends". He confirmed that these friends were not able to hear us physically, but could link into our thoughts in order to receive our responses. He therefore asked us to ensure that we kept our thoughts spiritual! It was felt that the team were once again optimistic about a good result on the video film.

This was confirmed afterwards when we played it back, which meant that we had now had five, good, positive video results in five sessions! The fully animated image this time appeared to be of a large planet (which we were unable to recognise), together with two smaller ‘moons’ (one of these white in colour) to its left. The camera panned across the image.

There were brief communications from Emily and James. Shortly after the video camera clicked off (forty-five minutes into the session), we once again had a good loud TDC voice communication from the same "stellar friend" who had spoken to us at the previous sitting. This was even clearer than we had previously witnessed. Diana and Alan both lost their trance states, and were therefore able to fully listen to the TDC/germanium communications again.

The voice once more sounded as though it was coming - in echoey fashion - from an airport or a railway tannoy system, and again suggested a vague hint of a female communicator who spoke in robotic fashion. This time, the communications (from another dimension) started with a sort of "gurgly"/rushing water sound.

ARCHIVAL NOTES:

This diary entry was recorded shortly after the conclusion of the session to preserve the most accurate immediate recollections of the phenomena and communications received. This session occurred during the final weeks of the experiment, when the focus had shifted almost exclusively to TDC and Alice video phenomena.

The description of the TDC voice as sounding like a "railway tannoy" is a consistent motif in Scole's electronic voice research. The communicator with the "tannoy voice" via the Edison TDC device was identified during a different session as Alayhurak of the "Star Brotherhood". This retrospective identification clarifies why the entity remains unnamed in the primary diary record for this session. Furthermore, the instruction to maintain "spiritual thoughts" underscores the importance of the "experimenter effect" in this work, where the mental harmony of the group acts as a functional component of the interdimensional link.

This session marks a significant technical evolution in "Project Alice" as the requirement for sitters to be positioned in front of the mirror was removed. This shift from a psychomanteum-style setup to a direct electronic-visual link suggests the spirit team had achieved a self-sustaining energy field within the optical circuit.

The appearance of planetary imagery (a planet with two moons) aligns with the overarching narrative of the late-1998 sessions, which focused on revealing interdimensional landscapes and "stellar" environments.

DIARY TEXT:

Session 405.

Friday 6 March 1998.

Immediately after Emily's chat, we all heard a series of squeaks (rather like a rubber duck or a dog's toy) coming from the amplifier attached to the TDC. Sandra initially thought that these noises might have come from a chair, but Emily cut in to say she shouldn't make such assumptions and should listen carefully. The squeaks were then repeated several times.

The new communicator previously mentioned by Edwin then started to address us through the amplifier of the TDC/germanium device. The words were clear and concise as he spoke, but he explained that what we were hearing was not his actual voice. He clarified this by telling us that he was from another dimension where words and language were not needed. He was therefore using a thought-translation system to speak to us in English. Where he came from (as he explained), he had no name; but he said that, for identification purposes, we might call him what sounded to us like "Shar-en-ess" [see Communicator "Sharness"].

Our new friend told us that, in reality, his own dimension was not too far distant from our own; although it was definitely a non-physical dimension - somewhat similar to those dimensions we encounter in our dreams whilst in a sleep state. "Shar-en-ess" [Sharness] had no physical form, although both male and female beings existed in his environment. Their life-form owned no lands and no possessions. There were no wars - as it was a dimension of  nothingness", and there was nothing to fight over. The distinction between male and female beings was simply to create balance.

Our new friend - "Sharn" for short - told us that he hoped to become a regular communicator at Scole and that he would try to answer some of our questions about both his (and other) interdimensional existences. In answer to Sandra's question, he stated that, if he or others from his dimension chose (or wished) to be born into a physical existence, it would not be possible for this to happen.

ARCHIVAL NOTES:

This is the primary record of the first communication from Sharness, an NHI Communicator also referred to as both "Sharn" and "Shar-en-ess" in various contexts. Having carefully listened to and transcribed the relevant recordings, we have chosen "Sharness" as the archive name by which to identify this Communicator. During session 409, Sharness told the Scole Group that "he" was a "Darti" (he rolled the "r") and that, in his earlier days, he had been taught by "Darti Masters". Researchers might wish to distinguish between the "Stellar Friends" who appeared visually on video and sometimes physically in the experimental room and personalities like Sharness who said he was not contained in a physical body and communicated primarily through technical instrumentation rather than a human instrument (or "medium").

Session 405 marks a pivotal transition in the Scole Experiment's research trajectory, shifting from traditional survival evidence to interdimensional liaison. The introduction of Sharness represents the first sustained verbal interaction with a non-human, non-physical intelligence via mechanical means rather than biological mediumship. Sharness's description of his home as a "world of images" and "nothingness" provides a theoretical framework for the "New Work" which increasingly relied on the "Alice" optical feedback system and the trans dimensional communication (TDC) device to bridge different time-streams and vibrational densities.

The technical operation of the Scole-Edison TDC device during this session was highly specific. Unlike earlier (Type 3) "Energy Voice" manifestations, the sounds produced by Sharness were processed through an electronic circuit utilising a germanium crystal under screw-pressure with two coils. This configuration may have acted as a "cat's whisker" style receiver for interdimensional thought-pulses, which were then translated into the auditory range via the battery-powered amplifier (a 1990s-type tape player-recorder with the microphone removed to ensure it was not picking up ambient sounds in the room or radio signals). The screw was used for an equivalent of "tuning-in". The "squeaking" noises described by the sitters are possible indicators of the device achieving a frequency-lock prior to the initiation of the thought-translation stream.
