Intelligent Transcripts

An intelligent transcript (often called intelligent verbatim or clean verbatim) is a text record of spoken audio that has been cleaned up to improve readability and focus purely on the core message.

What Gets Removed

  • Filler words: Verbal tics like "um," "uh," "ah," "like," and "you know".
  • False starts: Sentences the speaker begins, stops, and restarts.
  • Repetitions: Stutters or redundant phrasing that add no new meaning.
  • Non-verbal sounds: Background noises or side chatter.

What Stays the Same

  • The core message: The speaker's actual words, ideas, and overall meaning are strictly preserved.
  • The natural tone: Slang, colloquialisms, and the general voice of the speaker remain intact without heavy rewriting or paraphrasing.
  • Default AI output: Most automated speech-to-text tools naturally output an intelligent or clean transcript format.
